Women's Hospital Services and Features
Choosing the place to deliver your bundle of joy is an important decision. That’s why we’re so proud to deliver award-winning, exceptional maternity care in a beautiful, comfortable environment at The Women’s Hospital at Saddleback Medical Center in Laguna Hills.
Every year, hundreds of couples struggling with infertility realize their dreams at Saddleback Medical Center, thanks to Jane Frederick, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., and her colleagues. Board certified in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, Dr. Frederick is fueled by a passion for her patients and her work.
Dr. Frederick partnered with Saddleback Medical Center to build a Surrogate Bonding Room—the world’s first.
“After nine months of anticipation, labor and delivery, my patients had no place to bond with their baby,” says Dr. Frederick. “The surrogate stayed in the hospital room, the baby went to the nursery and they went to a hotel. Now they have a place to stay with their baby in those first critical days.”

Private, Spacious Birthing Suites
In 1988, The Women’s Hospital at Saddleback Medical Center introduced the first Labor-Delivery-Recovery-Postpartum (LDRP) suites in California, and since then, we’ve stayed ahead of the curve, adding a variety of luxurious amenities, certified nurse midwives and natural birthing suites.
Recently, we renovated our private rooms, offering spa-like amenities that provide a calm, nurturing environment for your birthing experience. The comfortable, family-friendly atmosphere enables the mother, baby and family to bond. The privacy, paired with our compassionate, expert care is designed to enhance your whole experience through labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum.
All of our rooms offer free Wi-Fi, breastfeeding support from our Certified Nurse Lactation Consultants, room service, in-room dining and complimentary parking for your partner and visitors.
NATURAL BIRTHING SUITES
For mothers interested in natural birth, we also have natural birthing suites and offer women the option to give birth using the services of a Certified Nurse Midwife. Women who prefer this option can now have a midwife by their side throughout their pregnancy and deliver within the comfort and safe environment of our hospital.
On-site Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Every mom-to-be wants and deserves a healthy pregnancy, delivery and newborn. Sometimes, however, complications can arise when immediate and specialized care for a baby is needed. At our Women’s Hospital, board certified neonatologists are available 24/7. With experienced nurses, respiratory therapists, social workers and support such as breastfeeding education and skin-to-skin care, the NICU is equipped to handle the unknowns all under one roof.
“At The Women’s Hospital, parents have added piece of mind that no matter what happens, from their baby being born prematurely or requiring advanced medical attention, their precious newborn will be well cared for in our NICU,” says Terri Harrison, R.N., the NICU nurse who cared for the first NICU baby.
Serving Women for 30 Years
Celebrating the 30th anniversary of The Women’s Hospital at Saddleback Medical Center, the staff is incredibly grateful to the tens of thousands of patients who have entrusted them with their health and to have safely delivered over 75,000 babies.
“Our nurses love what they do every day,” says Christine Huff, M.S.N.-I.N.F., R.N.C.-O.B., director of women’s and children’s services. “The birth of your baby is the most amazing time of your life, and it’s a privilege for us to be part of that.”
